Kristel grew up in a seaside town in Massachusetts and has been residing in Rhode Island since 2006. She graduated from Fordham University with a degree in education and has over 24 years of experience as both a teacher and administrator. Additionally, she has owned a local café and worked in real estate. Hailing from Denmark, Kristel developed a deep love for the ocean, particularly the North Sea. Her sailing adventures began at a young age with her father in his homemade sailboat on the fjords of Denmark. While in college, she worked at a summer sailing camp in the Caribbean.
When she’s not at Wellington, Kristel enjoys quality time with her husband and four children, having fun with her grandchildren, cruising Mount Hope Bay, traveling, walking her dog, and knitting.
